Carriages at 3pm please...

Mama noticed in the local rag that Savill Gardens (part of the Royal Estates) were having horse drawn carriage rides in December. So off we trotted (pun intended) to see for ourselves.

It was a cold, crisp beautiful winter's day as we walked round the gardens, rewarded ourselves with a hot chocolate, listened to a Barber Quartet of about 12 men (!), and then booked ourselves on a horse drawn carriage. There seemed to a glitch in the booking system as we found ourselves double booked with a lovely family from Kent. This was probably due to the fact that the woman doing the bookings was attempting to remember the bookings through the (weak in her case) power of memory, taking mobile phone calls throughout the afternoon, all whilst driving the carriage.

No worries though, as the extra family were good fun and we had a fantastic trot around the perimetre of the gardens and even sang Jingle Bells to get us in the Christmas mood.
