Pip's big day
Pip is growing up so fast we don't know where to look.
Mondays are busy in our house, but today they got a whole lot busier. Ol needs to be dropped off at school, Jane and Mama need a coffee in Costa (Pip does ask pretty much every day 'if we're going for a coffee with Jane, Mama?'), Pip needs to go to French, then swimming, Ol needs picking up and then he's off to French with Emily.
Mama doesn't like Monday's an awful lot. So she decided to make them a little more interesting by adding some ballet into the mix. Pip has a friend called Eleanor. Eleanor does ballet. When Eleanor's mummy picks up Pip from nursery, they head off to ballet classes where Mama then picks up Pip. So Pip starts haranguing Mama for ballet lessons. I like the pink, I like the leotards. You get the picture. Mama talks to some other Mamas and they all say you should go and see Miss Wise. So Mama contacts Miss Wise who says come along for a trial lesson. So off we go.
Pip starts out today dressed in his tights and sparkly shoes. He looks a pretty picture. He will only go to French and swimming if threatened with no ballet if he doesn't participate. We finally arrive at ballet and off he trots while an anxious Mama looks through the door to see if he's okay. Of course he's okay. He's more than okay. He's in his element. Please understand that ballet at this age is all about good toes and naughty toes and pretending to be a mouse. This is right up Pip's street. He loves the theatre of it all and I think he is probably in love with Miss Liz. Apparently he's doing it for the girls. I can only see one fatal flaw in his cunning plan.
He came out declared he wanted to do ballet 'every day Mama. Instead of school Mama'.
So I think we'll be going back to ballet classes. And the same day he decided that I wasn't to come into French class with him, so he now goes to ballet, swimming and French all by himself. And isn't fazed at all. It's just the way he wants it.
