Pip's trip to A&E

The joys of having kids. At around 6pm yesterday, when Mama was doing the wifely thing of cooking the dinner for the family, Pip decided it would be a great idea to climb the big, heavy garden chair, push it over and use his forehead as a landing cushion.

Much screaming and blood loss later (when people say that head injuries bleed, they really do mean it) we dropped Oliver off at Joe and Hannah's and arrived at The Royal Surrey. Again. With another head injury-ed son. It was the least painful trip to the A&E we've had so far in the last three years as we were in and out in under an hour and a half. Pip would probably disagree mainly due to the extraction of small stone from his forehead and the, with hindsight, unnecessary, prodding of the wound by the nurse and doctor before they realised something was stuck in the wound. He was glued together and sent home with steri strip all over his forehead and strict instructions not to get the wound wet. This will prove disappointing for Pip considering his favourite bathtime activity is waterboarding.

Oliver is clearly put out that Pip is getting all the attention and has moped around all of today saying he is feeling "unwell" and needs television to "feel me better". Ah well, he'll get over it.

But Pip was great and seems to have had a personality transplant since the bump. He is now the cheeriest boy in the world, not the cheeriest boy in Southern England. And he now knows the words "hurt" and "doctors". There could have been easier ways of learning those I'm sure....
