Pudding Lane trip
At school this year the boys have been learning about the Great Fire of London.
In response to the constant "Did you know only 6 people died and it killed the Great Plague Mama?" (I did try to explain the other theories on the death of the Black Death but it wasn't cutting mustard sadly) we arranged a trip to the big smoke to see where it all kicked off, whilst managing to catch up with our Mothers Group friends Kylie and James.
So we set off for the Monument and even managed to see Dada there who just happened to have a breakfast meeting nearby. We climbed up AND down the 311 steps (Ol laughed like a drain when after counting 310 steps all the way down - it's a very long way - he found out there was 311) and conquered our rising claustrophobia and vertigo to see magnificiant views of London.
Lunch in Leon (yum for Mamas, not so much for kiddies) and a 2.1 mile walk back to Trafaglar Square to climb all over the lions and practice our Usain Bolt impressions for the tourists.
A tip top day and much fun was had by all. And NO MOANING by the children on the walk. WOO HOO!!!!!!!! Had to be mentioned as this is a first. ;-)
