"Banana"
or rather 'nana'

Lucy

Lucy is not Lucy. She is Izzy. Near enough I guess.

Oliver pointed her out today. She ignored him. He ignored her.

Ahh, don't you remember the heady early days of a relationship?

Texter Pip

Pip today defied all statistical odds by signing me up to Vodafone Sky Sports News Texts.

I have no idea what the odds are to pressing the exact combination of buttons on my phone to get this wonderfully pointless and expensive service but he managed it.

I now have to figure out how to stop it.

My girl

Oliver has now had two full weeks at school and is getting along very nicely. So nicely in fact that before he's even in the door he's saying goodbye and trying to push me back towards the car. I can't complain though, as it's a lifetime away from having him cry all the way to school and making me promise I'll miss him.

I guess a sign of him settling in well is making new friends. He's friends with Ted (I say Oliver is, it's more I like his mum) but he was always quite coy about who he played with. Then he started to mention 'a girl'. He wouldn't elaborate and couldn't point her out in class, so I began to wonder whether she was indeed real. Until today. Her description had progressed to having curly hair. Then blonde curly hair. And today she got a name.

Lucy.

He smiles when he talks about her, taps his chest, and says 'my girl'.

Whether this is true or not I have no idea, but at least I can now look out for Lucy's peg and place at the lunch table to check out the subject of my elder son's affections.

Love's young dream. And I bet she doesn't even know who he is.

Sleep is a wonderous thing

This morning Jeff and I slept in until 7.30am. This meant we didn't wake for either boys ALL NIGHT and Pip even had the temerity to sleep in until 7.43am.

We are very thankful for small mercies.
