We have visitors

The latest addition to our ever growing family, is the baby birds in our nesting box.

Listen carefully and you can hear them chirruping away, hungry for food. Then watch as Mum comes out to find more food....

Oliver's new obsession

Playdoh, or as he calls it, clay. This the homemade stuff that we 'cooked' about 7 months ago, that has hardly been touched since, and is still going strong.

In the pictures, Oliver is making a castle for monkeys. As you do.

Veggie patch: Day Two

Jeff and Vicky have been doing a lot of behind the scenes work in the greenhouse but, aside from potatoes, nothing had actually gone in the ground come last Sunday, so a planting day was desperately needed.

With two little helpers and an official photographer we set to task. Vicky on runner beans and more potatoes and Jeff on radishes (because we eat a lot of those) and peas. Pip dug and ate dirt, while Oliver obsessed about raking. They are big into their spoons (spades) and rakes.

It looks like a proper veggie patch now and we're off to plant carrots in pots this afternoon. It's all a bit 'The Good Life' isn't it?

Pip's first photos

Everytime Pip sees the camera he says "camera" very emphatically and wants to hold it. In the spirit of the small photographic exhibition we were at on the weekend, I let him take his first (supervised) pictures.

And here they are.

Camera: Canon Ixus 65
Lens: Canon
Exposure: ?
Visual effects: smearing of finger on lens and camera shake.

Note to blog readers

I have updated the blog with photos of the before and after for O's party (scroll down to 9th May)... Being slack I've only just got to it now. Enjoy.

Oliver's ploy

Since O was sick this week with some kind of tummy bug, he got to watch a bit more telly than usual.

So when he wants to watch some telly, instead of asking and probably being told no, he's figured his chances are higher if he complains of being sick or having a sore tummy.

Smart cookie.

Parental help

If you ever want to keep a 3 year old mesmerised for hours on end, buy them a birthday card that sings "happy birthday to [insert name]". Oliver is currently in the lounge singing happy birthday to himself for the umpteenth time. I'm amazed the batteries have lasted this long.

Thanks Auntie Hil and Uncle Colin. x
