There is a cheap end of line bookshop in Fleet where we have managed to get our hands on a whole bunch of Disney books with CDs. So far, we've got through Cars, Cinderella and Snow White (obviously), The Little Mermaid and finally we've reached Peter Pan.
It was with a little reluctance that the boys started listening to Peter Pan and we'd often turn it off when Captain Hook appeared. But it seems familiarity breeds contempt and Peter Pan has replaced Cars as our new favourite pastime.
The CD is asked for before we get in the car, they play Peter Pan games round the house (take a stab at who plays who) and we have Peter Pan stories at night. Yesterday we hit the pinnacle of excitement when we sat down to watch the actual film. The room was darkened, the phone switched off, Mama got comfy and we hit play. Two little men sat mesmerized for an hour and a half at a film that was made back in the 50s. Quite simply, one of the best Disney films we've seen yet. A sprinkling of magic really brightens a gloomy afternoon doesn't it?
Maybe Pip will move on from his Snow White outfit to Peter Pan. Or Tinkerbell?
