First castle visit

On our way back from the 1066 Relay with the Farnham Runners, we dropped by Bodium Castle.  We had attempted to go to Hastings for the day on the return journey, to enjoy the World Championship Crazy Golf Course there, but were unhelpfully thwarted by around 2,000 bikers who decided to descend on Hastings that very same morning.

This turned out to a blessing in disguise as the boys couldn't be more excited to go to a real, live castle.  They spent most of the day tearing around pretending to be knights and hunting down the May Day Men hidden around the castle.

A top way to end a lovely, if a little damp, Bank Holiday weekend on the Sussex/Kent coast.  Mama ran (badly) in a race, the boys got to go to kids club at the holiday camp, we all got to spend at least 3 hours a day in the pool and then topped off with a bit of National Trust history.

Roll on next May Day Bank Holiday....

Map in hand, the intrepid explorer.
Me and my partner in crime.  You work out which is which.

 A truly impressive castle.

I'm not sure Oliver should be this happy about Pip in the stocks.
