An eventful Sunday: Pip's 3rd Birthday Party and an ambulance ride.

Pip in his infinite wisdom oscillated between a Worst Witch and a Little Mermaid party this year.  To his credit once he'd decided on the Little Mermaid,  he stuck to it like a limpet and he and Oliver were full of, mostly unachievable, ideas about how to host and decorate the party.
But with a little planning and some serious crafting, we came up with a party for all this friends that was modified to be an 'Under the Sea' party so at least some boys would turn up.  We had mermaid, sorry, sea themed food and games, and the face painting seemed to be the big success of the day.  The cake, which the cats had kindly slept on the night previously, was devoured by sugar fueled children who by then, were packed off to their parents while everyone in the Sweetwater household collapsed in a heap.
I think Pip enjoyed himself, although when the cough that had been bugging him turned into croup later that night he might be forgiven for forgetting all the excitement of the day.  The poor mite tried to cough, vomit and breathe all at the same time, upon which Jeff wisely called the ambulance as he wasn't doing a great job of breathing.  And after being assessed by no less than 3 ambulance technicians, Mama and Pip had a ride to the hospital in an ambulance at about 8pm.   One nebulizer later,  Dada came to pick us up and we all collapsed (for good) into bed together.  Phew.

Happy birthday, little man.  You had a big day....
